SOCIAL VALUE & CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
Making every contract count, to benefit people, places, and the environment.
Our Commitment
At Secure Horizon, we believe our work should leave a lasting legacy. As a proud profit-for-purpose organisation, we reinvest in people and places so that every service we deliver not only makes homes and communities safer, but also creates jobs, strengthens supply chains, protects the environment and invests in opportunities for future generations.
Our commitment to social value also reflects our wider corporate social responsibility (CSR). Together, these principles guide how we work, who we partner with, and the positive legacy we leave behind.
In addition, our roots with The Prince’s Trust also continue today with the King’s Trust: our Managing Director, Paul Hentrich, regularly mentors young entrepreneurs through the Enterprise Programme – sharing practical guidance on building sustainable, community-minded businesses.
Providing Employment
We are committed to creating meaningful employment and training opportunities in every area we operate. We:
- Recruit and support young people who have faced unemployment, reflecting The Prince’s Trust, now The King's Trust, ethos on which we were founded.
- Provide a comprehensive training programme for all staff, covering technical security skills, health & safety, equality & diversity, and safeguarding.
- Focus on long-term career development, giving people the tools to build sustainable futures rather than short-term roles.
Supporting Local Businesses
We are committed to creating meaningful employment and training opportunities in every area we operate. We:
- Source vehicle servicing, signage, workwear and office supplies from community-based businesses.
- Keep investment within the regions we serve, helping to boost local economies and sustain small enterprises.
Responsible Supply Chains
We take pride in ensuring our supply chains are both ethical and sustainable. We:
- Work only with suppliers who meet high standards of employment and environmental practice.
- Purchase our high security door locks from West Midlands-based companies with finishing and pinning carried out locally.
- Retain skills and create jobs in the very communities where we install these products.
Environmental Responsibility
Minimising our environmental impact is a key part of our operations. We:
- Operate and maintain a low-emission vehicle fleet, regularly upgrading to the latest fuel-efficient technology.
- Recycle old locks, metals, materials and office supplies responsibly across appropriate waste streams.
- Donate wooden off-cuts to a local community centre, where they are used as fuel, ensuring nothing goes to waste.
Mentoring & Community Investment
Giving back is part of our DNA. Secure Horizon was founded through The Prince’s Trust Enterprise Programme, and we remain committed to its ethos. We:
- Support young entrepreneurs through mentoring and advice, with our Director Paul Hentrich continuing to volunteer with The King’s Trust.
- Invest in grassroots initiatives that strengthen communities beyond the direct services we deliver.
Governance & Ethics
Acting responsibly is at the heart of how we operate. We:
- Uphold strict safeguarding and data protection policies to protect the people and communities we serve.
- Comply with all relevant standards and regulations, including anti-slavery, anti-bribery and equal opportunities legislation.
- Maintain transparent reporting and accountability, so commissioning partners can be confident in the integrity of our work.
Why It Matters
Every contract we deliver has a ripple effect. It makes one home safer, but it also creates opportunities for work, supports local businesses, protects the environment, and inspires the next generation. That’s what profit for purpose – and responsible business practice – means to us.
