CASE STUDIES

Demonstrating measurable outcomes through real people, projects and partnerships.

Worcestershire County Council

We have been providing a Sanctuary Scheme on behalf of Worcestershire County Council since April 2023. Referrals come into the service via secure means from the six Worcestershire districts. We work closely with WCC Commissioning Team and liaise with large housing providers within the county.

Clients are contacted by our Administrators within 24 hours of receipt of referral and offered an appointment slot within 5-days.

We know we are working with vulnerable people and therefore all our personnel who come into contact either on the phone or in-person are fully trained and prepared which includes our internal training programmes and externally provided modules which include Domestic Abuse Awareness, Safeguarding and Trauma training modules.

As with all these schemes, Clients are given the name of our Engineer in advance and they have the option of having a friend, family member or support professional present during the home visit.

When visiting the Client’s home our Engineer will discuss their security concerns, with a view to learning information relevant to our security intervention. We look to establish risk scenarios and perpetrator behaviour patterns which can help us to focus security upgrades appropriately. Our Engineers are looking to provide bespoke security interventions for each Client, their home and their security concerns.

Assessments and fittings proceed on the same day giving the referred client added sense of security in the shortest possible timeframe. In some cases, we book in a follow-up visit to fit additional products. These may be electrical products or sometimes, made to measure products such as replacement doors/windows.

Clients are given the option of filling in a customer satisfaction questionnaire. They can also add comments if they choose to do so. These come straight through to our Administration and Management Teams via our CRM system.

The positive client feedback that we get is fed back to WCC as a component of monthly reports.

These reports and case studies then form the basis of regular Contract Progress Meetings between Secure Horizon management personnel and WCC Commissioners. Due to the success of the scheme and positive Client feedback, we have been offered and have taken up a contractual extension period.
